Issue- Lists fail to load in certain instances when R2023 is installed side-by-side with prior releases of Sage 50 US
Created on 10-11-2022 / Last modified on 10-13-2022
Summary
After installing release 2023 in a side-by-side configuration with a prior release of Sage 50 (2022 or earlier) certain lists will not load properly in either the list window or the list view added to dashboards.
- Credit Memos
- Vendor Credit Memos
- Inventory & Services
- Top Vendors: Last Twelve Months (dashboard add-in)
- Jobs window on jobs using percent of proposal billing method
Resolution
In order to resolve this issue you can remove Sage 50 release 2023 from the machine the prior releases of Sage 50 are installed. Sage 50 release 2023 will need to be installed on a separate machine to prevent this issue. Alternatively, prior data can be upgraded to release 2023 and the issue will no longer be present in the 2023 release.

Issue- Prior release companies do not load properly when R2023 is installed side-by-side
Created on 08-18-2022 / Last modified on 10-13-2022
Summary
After installing Sage 50 US R2023.0 in a side-by-side configuration with a prior release, such as R2022, companies will not load properly in the prior release version. Instead the company menu bar will load but the dashboards will not display.
Cause
Userpref.DAT file not loading properly in conjunction with the Actian Zen v15 database engine.
Resolution
Note: This utility and the instructions above apply only to Sage 50 companies in version 2022 when both the 2022 and 2023 versions of Sage 50 are installed in a side-by-side configuration. The utility has been tested and works in releases 2021 and 2020 as well, but it has not been tested in earlier versions.
In order to resolve this issue, follow the steps below.
- Close Sage 50 on all computers.
- Download Sage.Peachtree.SupportDBv15.exe You must download and run the utility on the same machine that stores the Sage 50 company data (i.e. your server).
- Click the Select Company button and browse to the individual company dataset folder on your machine. The company name and whether or not it is updated will display in the utility.
- Click Update, and you will receive a message that the company is now updated.

Issue- Performance Issue noted if you have an extremely large inventory database. Please read before taking the update!
Added Nov 28, 2022
If you have a large company database, you may be experiencing the performance issue from our announcement posted here: https://www.sagecity.com/us/sage50_accounting_us/f/sage-50-accounting-u-s-announcements-news-and-alerts/193204/performance-in-inventory-list-views-in-sage-50-us-release-2023
We apologize for the impact this issue has had, and we’re working to find a solution as quickly as possible!
As for rolling back to Sage 50 2022, that is an option, though it would require uninstalling both Sage 50 2023 and Actian Zen (which was updated alongside Sage 50 2023), then downloading and installing Sage 50 2022. I will paste the relevant steps and links for that below. Normally it is not possible to roll back to a prior version if you’ve converted your data to the new version since the old version will no longer be able to open your converted company files. However, since the upgrade from Sage 50 2022 to 2023 does not require a data conversion, you should be able to open and continue working in your companies in the 2022 version without issue.

How to uninstall Actian Zen:https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=99555 Note that the old version of Actian Zen should reinstall when you reinstall Sage 50 2022. You should not need to reinstall it separately.

We are currently investigating a potential issue surrounding extremely large datasets and performance in inventory list views in Sage 50 US release 2023. We encourage any customer that encounters this issue to reach out to our support team so that we can gather more information about this potential issue.
