This post only applies to you, if you are using Sage 50 version 2020.1 and earlier.
In order to utilize the most current TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocol recommended by third-party standards organizations, you must be on Sage 50 US Accounting version 2020.2 or later by September 30, 2022. After that date, you will be unable to install and automatically reactivate version 2020.1 and prior versions of Sage 50 US Accounting. Because of this, we strongly recommend you upgrade to the latest supported version (2022.0) of Sage 50 to receive critical security updates relating to this protocol that better help protect your data. If you are using Windows 7, you may need to perform additional steps. Please refer to the following documentation from Microsoft. What does this mean to you? If you are on an active plan Sage 50 U.S. Edition 2022 can be downloaded by accessing Sage 50—U.S. Edition 2022 Full Product Download If you are not on an active plan: Step 1) Log into your Sage 50 software.Click on “Maintain Tab” located on the top toolbar. Then, click on “Company Information button”. (This will show you where your Sage 50 files are located on your computer)
You will need to copy the circled information ending after the slash \ after Company.
Step 2) Open your File Explorer on your computer & paste copied information into the Quick Access Toolbar.
(This will open up your Sage 50 company information.) Note: You must use your company information. DO NOT use information typed in the quick access toolbar above.
Step 3) Open your Update folder and look for 2020.2.0 application. Take the 2020.2.0 update if it is in your folder! If the 2020.2.0 update is not in your folder, be aware that you will need to upgrade your software at some point. After 9/30/22, you will be unable to install and automatically reactivate version 2020.1 and prior versions of Sage 50 US Accounting.
