Act! admins can now configure and require Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), a multi-step authentication process that provides an additional layer of security to prevent unauthorized account access. It works by requiring users to enter a unique numerical code sent to them via text message, in addition to their username and password, when logging into Act!.

Clear Activity in Alarms Window

If you’ve happened to set an alarm for an Activity, you can now use the alarm pop-up window to clear the activity. When an alarm pop-up is presented, you can select “Clear Activity”, which allows you to “Save and Follow Up”, which works in the same way as if you had cleared the Activity from the Calendar or Task List

Warning Prompt when Removing an Attachment

When removing an attachment from a Note in Act!, there is a warning prompt asking if you are sure you want to remove the attachment. This same warning prompt has been added to Activities and History entries to add consistency across the product.

Google Chrome™ Compatibility

Google released Chrome™ version 46 on October 16th, which removed a specific popup function in Chrome™ that is unfortunately used in over 200 areas within Act!. This has caused disruption to Act! Premium customers using the web interface in the Chrome™ browser.

This update was anticipated and we are aggressively working on a comprehensive update for all our Act! Premium v17 customers. In the meantime, we recommend using the Internet Explorer® browser for immediate access for Act! Premium for web and Act! Premium Cloud.

We understand the importance of browser choice and are committed to resolving this issue for all specific versions of Act! v17. All issues are currently being tested and will be included in Act! v18, which has an anticipated release date in mid-December.

Windows® 10 Compatibility

Microsoft announced the release of Windows® 10 on July 29, 2015. Upgrading to Windows® 10 introduces many new features, some of which may affect Act!. We highly recommend performing a complete backup of your Act! database prior to upgrading to Windows®, though the current version of Act! (v17) is fully supported.
