What is Sage 50 Accounting w/Cloud Connectivity?

Sage 50, formerly known as Sage 50cloud, combines the power of desktop accounting with the flexibility of cloud connectivity, to give you time back, advanced functionality, and business-wide actionable insight. It is a hybrid solution that gives you the best of both worlds. Sage is still a desktop software with secure online cloud capabilities. It is not a cloud hosted application. Sage 50 is a “cloud-connected” application. Your Sage 50 data and software is NOT stored on the cloud. It is still stored on your desktop and or server.

You can install the software at a remote location and send transactions through the cloud using a remote data access connector. Your Sage 50 Pro, Premium, and Quantum software includes a data access connector for one user. Everyone must have Sage 50 and a data connector to access data in the cloud. More remote data access connectors (users) may be purchased at an additional cost for Sage 50 Premium & Quantum software.

Question: You have a 4 user premium subscription and three of your workers want to work from home next week while you work at the office how can you make this happen? Step 1) Your three employees would need to have Sage installed on their laptop or home computer. & Step 2) You would need to purchase three additional data access connectors.

What is Sage 50 Remote Data Access Connector?

The Remote Data Access Connector is an optional add-on that syncs data between remote users PC and the office computer and/or data server. YOU MUST BE Hardwired from a remote location and have very good internet service at all locations.  Each remote user must have a company login and an active Sage 50 license on their PC.

When remote users access data, Sage 50 Accounting downloads a copy of the up-to-date data, to the remote users PC each time they connect. The application then synchronizes data back and forth between the office computer and or server and the remote users PC.

This synchronization is referred to as “Remote Data Access” It has a prerequisite of a 2mbps minimum upload and 4Mbps minimum download speed. The data is NOT stored/saved in the cloud.

What is a subscription license?

A subscription plan works much like a magazine subscription. You must renew your software every year to use it. You will always have support and the latest new features and updates. Sage 50 Subscription Service is an Auto renewing software subscription service. Although (BBS) sold you your initial subscription, and I am your reseller of record, please be advised that all future Auto Renewals are managed by Sage directly.
