Act! Users - Version Act! v18
In accordance with the Act! Support Obsolescence Policy, you are reminded that on November 30th, 2018, you no longer eligible to receive critical updates and enhancements that ensure your product continues to run optimally.
Swiftpage has made an exception going above their obsolescence policy to provide you a fix after the obsolescence end date. If for any reason this patch ceases to work for unrelated Act! reasons once it has been released i.e. Windows updates, It is recommended that you upgrade your software to a supported version to avoid the risk of not being able to access your database, however the choice is ultimately yours.
Important notice: We have recently been informed that an embedded third-party software component of Act! that facilitates licensing services is being discontinued by the manufacturer at the end of this year. As of January 1, 2019, certain common actions you may take the interact with the current licensing component will cause Act! to fail and you will no longer be able to access your database. Examples of these common actions include attempting to install Act! on new hardware, modifying existing hardware and modifying your user count.
To ensure uninterrupted access to Act! in 2019, you must either upgrade to the current version of Act! (v21) by December 31, 2018 or wait for the patch for v18, which will be provided after December 31, 2018. This will put you at great risk if you perform any of the actions listed below.
Swiftpage, manufactures of Act! assumes no responsibility for issues encountered with Act! if the required action(s) is not taken.

Moving Forward --> Upgrade options for continued access:
We understand that many of you may not have planned to upgrade at this time, so we're happy to announce that Swiftpage had already scheduled significant discounts for the balance of the calendar year from November 6th through December 31st, 2018 on all Act! subscriptions. These discounts should soften the impact of this unexpected licensing development. This promo was unrelated to the 3rd party software issue, but is useful for people that had not planned to upgrade at this time.
